Sculpture Exhibit at the Centre for Education

Between January and June 2013, an exciting sculpture display featuring recycled materials, altered books, ceramics and even broken mirror, is being exhibited at the Centre for Education. District students from 5 different schools have created 19 works of art. The display is visible from the atrium at the Centre for Education.

This show features a special work by Odessa, a grade 5 Métis student in the regular program at Ekota Elementary School. Having Muscular-Dystrophy, she is in a motorized wheel chair with a full time aid. She has limited use of her thumbs which allows her to operate the joystick of her wheelchair. Odessa created her painting all by mouth; the tripod was made from maple trees so her painting and the dream catcher could be displayed in our school library.

Please make time to see this eclectic display showcasing creativity through diverse materials and concepts.
