On Saturday, October 25, parents, grandparents and other caregivers are invited to the 2014 Literacy and Learning Day. This free conference offers adults an opportunity to obtain skills, resources and knowledge that will help support children in school and life.
The day kicks off with keynote speaker Larry Anderson presenting Learning to Live Your Dreams: The Power of Self-directed Learning. Attendees can then choose from 38 different workshops covering topics such as engaging readers, building vocabulary at home, Google Apps in the classroom, transforming sibling rivalry and preventing apathy in teens.
