Description
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the successful candidate for this full-time, temporary position will support Metro Continuing Education by assisting with developing, designing and implementing efficient financial data controls, reports and processes that positively impact financial data based decisions. This position will identify ways to use technology/data management systems to improve processes.

ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• a Bachelor of Commerce or a related degree 
• working towards the completion of a professional accounting designation
• a minimum of three years related experience 
• experience with full-cycle accounting and financial systems in a computerized environment
• knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures 
• excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills
• advanced technical skills including Excel and Google Docs
              
ABOUT THE ROLE:
 
Responsibilities include:
 
• oversee and enhance reports to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and the use of these reports for financial decisions
• prepare financial performance reports including variance analysis, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
• extract ad-hoc financial information from multiple systems/sources and present the results in a manner meaningful to the end user 
• design reporting and data analysis using Excel, Google, District financial system, standardized templates, and registration software
• identify and implement procedures to ensure data accuracy within internal systems 
• ensure consistency, completeness, and integrity of financial information 
• maintain, implement, and recommend improvements to financial data gathering and generation process 
• review processes and recommend improvements through the use of technology solutions
