Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, Strategic District Supports, the successful candidate will be responsible for integrating organizational information with student achievement and learning data into reports that support the District’s strategic direction and the work of the Board of Trustees.

ABOUT US: 

Strategic District Supports is a decision unit in Edmonton Public Schools with responsibility to support strategic planning and reporting, the development of Board policies and administrative regulations, and key District partnerships and community engagement.

ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  a degree in Education or another undergraduate degree
  •  progressively responsible experience preferably in an educational or government-related environment
  •  experience with program evaluation and strategic planning processes 
  •  familiarity with the strategic plans that guide the work of large organizations
  •  demonstrated proficiency with various technologies used to organize data and produce documents
  •  demonstrated expertise in written communication, including experience developing complex reports using diverse information from multiple sources
  •  proven ability to engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration
  •  demonstrated experience in the area of data analysis and reporting
  •  ability to work independently towards team goals and initiatives
  •  capacity to onboard quickly into a dynamic environment with a diverse portfolio of work

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will:

  • refine processes to support accountability measures and reporting, such as the Alberta Education Results Report (AERR), District Strategic Plan Update reports and requests for information from the Superintendent team and the Board of Trustees
  • coordinate the completion of the Strategic Plan Update Board Reports, including manage and organize information from a variety of sources to complete initial drafts and engage across departments to ensure timely completion of a high quality written report
  • present information and data in a variety of written and visual formats appropriate for publicly shared reports
  • analyze and interpret a range of data sets, including student achievement data, to support the reporting of data to a variety of stakeholders including school leaders, central leaders, the Superintendent, Alberta Education, and the Board of Trustees
  • contribute to a small, but diverse team in a fast-paced working environment with quick deadlines
