Although the number of hours per week cannot be guaranteed, due to significant shortages of educational assistants, those individuals willing to accept assignments throughout the City of Edmonton can expect regular work.  Excellent opportunities also exist for those seeking permanent employment.  An excellent benefit package is provided to staff who receives long term assignments beyond 25 days in duration.

 

Responsibilities

Providing support for students who require specialized supports and services including deaf or hard of hearing, developmental delays, behaviour difficulties, autism, physical and learning challenges, and medical conditions.

Requirements

One-year related program; one year related experience with students or clients who have special needs; excellent communication both verbal and written; superb interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.

Equivalencies to the above qualifications will be considered.

 

Rate of Pay

$17.65 - $20.66 per hour.

Hours of Work

Up to 7 hours per day, Monday – Friday.
