Summer Options

Make the most of your summer and pick from a range of 3 to 5 credit courses. Try something new, earn extra high school credits or work towards getting industry-recognized credentials and certifications. 


Building Up 

M.E. LaZerte School, 6804-144 Ave, 5 CTS credits

Immerse yourself in the construction trades. Taught in partnership with construction industry professionals, you can participate in several hands-on activities specific to a number of popular trades. Use Building Up to get work-ready for your career in trades. Open to students in Grades 10 to 12.

Business 200 (DUAL CREDIT)

The King's University, 9125-50 St  
July 3 to 14, 2017
Prerequisite: 60% average in English 10-1

Get a feel for what it might be like at university or college. The King’s Business 200 course transfers to the University of Alberta, MacEwan University, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, Concordia University and Athabasca University.

COST: $25 application fee

Business of Music

Are you interested in pursuing a music career outside of performing on stage? During this two-week course, you’ll work in teams to explore potential careers and sharpen your music industry knowledge and skills.

Construction 101

July 4 to 14, 2017

This two week-intensive course is taught by an Edmonton Public Schools' teacher and industry journeypersons. Through hands-on training, you’ll learn construction basics and gain certification. Open to students in Grades 9 to 12.

Environmental Science 

McNally School, 8440-105 Ave, 4 credits
August 2 to 8, 2017

Learn about environmental science techniques and watershed health from Jasper to Edmonton. In partnership with Parks Canada, you’ll get to spend five days working with scientists in Jasper and two days at McNally School.

COST: $150

Sport and Recreation 

W.P. Wagner School, 6310 Wagner Road, 5 credits
July 4 to 14, 2017

This two week camp introduces you to different sports and careers on and off the field. Earn certification in coaching and officiating, first aid and self-defence.
