Edmonton Transit System (ETS)

Edmonton Transit System (ETS) is the preferred means of transportation for district students. We work closely with ETS to ensure all students have access to close and reliable transit routes.

Buying an ETS bus pass

ETS passes are available at a subsidized price through your child’s school.

Students can buy a subsidized ETS pass as long as they:

  • are registered at their designated school
  • aren’t provided with other subsidized transportation

Students must pay the full cost of a monthly bus pass, even if:

  • they don’t ride the bus every day
  • they buy the pass mid month 

Replacing a bus pass

Junior high and high school

Junior high and high school students can buy a replacement ETS pass at the school office at a discounted rate‌.

Elementary

Elementary school students can buy a replacement ETS pass at the school office at a discounted rate‌.

Elementary students can request a free replacement for a damaged ETS pass if they:

  • turn in an identifiable piece of the damaged pass
  • show their current, laminated school picture ID

Using an ETS bus pass

ETS student bus passes are valid for unlimited travel on the Edmonton Transit System, including during statutory holidays.

Acceptable ETS ride times

Acceptable one way ETS ride times to a designated school are:

  • Elementary (K - 6): 40 minutes and 0 transfers
  • Junior high (7 - 9): 60 minutes and 1 transfer
  • Senior high (10 - 12): 60 minutes and 2 transfers
