Michael A. Kostek School develops successful students who are independent learners and responsible citizens. We offer regular programming from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with an emphasis on Inquiry-based Instruction, Assessment for Learning and the integration of technology. Our academic program highlights higher-order thinking skills in reading and writing and includes social studies, mathematics and problem solving, French as a Second Language in Grades 4 to 6, a music program, and daily physical activity.
Our students have the opportunity to develop leadership, character and responsible citizenship skills through our Leader in Me program. The school serves the communities of Jamieson Place, Wedgewood Heights and Wedgewood Ravine. Parents support our programs and we have a strong school council. A local grocery store supports many school initiatives including Walk to School Day, Family Ski Night at Rabbit Hill and Family BBQ.
