News item: Proposed Ward Boundary Changes

Edmonton Public Schools’ Board of Trustees would like your feedback on two proposed options to change current trustee ward boundaries, to be in place for the 2021 election.

As the population of Edmonton continues to grow, we need to review and adjust our existing trustee ward boundaries. Currently, the ward boundaries do not meet the Trustee Ward Boundary Design Criteria. The proposed new trustee ward boundaries factor in current and future growth in each ward, while creating a fair distribution of city population being served within each ward.

We invite you to share your thoughts on two new concepts that meet the ward boundary criteria, which are outlined in the survey. The short survey will be open until 4 p.m. on May 1, 2020.

The Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on changes to the current ward boundaries at the public board meeting on June 23, 2020. The changes will be in effect for the next municipal election in October 2021. Learn more about our Board of Trustees.
