Research and Innovation for Student Learning oversees research, student assessment and achievement, student information and district surveys. It partners with the District Support team and school leaders to identify information needs and interpret insights. Services include designing, analyzing and reporting research and transforming data and information into knowledge and insight. Research and Innovation for Student Learning also identifies data and information sources and links them to model and forecast outcomes.
In addition, this department develops the capacity of school leaders and school staff to collect and analyze data for developing school-based innovations and coordinates Alberta Education and District reporting requirements for school, course and student information. It works with schools on assessment plans and reporting, creates and coordinates assessment tools, coordinates Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma exams, assists with program evaluation as requested, and is responsible for Student Information.
