We’re preparing to welcome students and staff back into schools this September. Learn more about our school re-entry plans.
In 2018, Edmonton Public Schools started working with parents and guardians who have children in the Extensions District Centre special needs program to develop a plan for relocating the program and make the transition as smooth as possible for students. Thank you to everyone involved for your participation and feedback. We considered everything we heard when making a decision.
Edmonton Public Schools decided to relocate the program to Hardisty School and Laurier Heights School, effective for the 2019-20 school year. Current Extensions students have the following options:
Students can stay at McKernan School and will receive “gifted and talented” enrichment through the Pre-Advanced Placement Program (Grades 7-9) or the regular program (Grades 1-6). Students will need to pre-enrol in SchoolZone between March 11 and April 15, 2019. Families will need to make their own transportation arrangements.
