Highlands School will become a K-9 school in fall 2021. Thank you to everyone who took part in the engagement process for the Highlands School Project.
After developing a community-driven plan through public engagement, students currently enrolled at Highlands, Montrose and Mount Royal schools will be accommodated at Highlands School.
The following neighbourhoods are in the attendance area for Highlands School, effective for the 2021-22 school year.
Alex Taylor East remains designated to Norwood School for Grades K-6, and Cromdale and Virginia Park remain designated to Virginia Park School for Grades K-6.

Highlands School is a Level 1 school on the Growth Control Model and will have an open attendance area boundary. Students living outside the attendance area can pre-enrol at the school. If demand exceeds available space, students from outside the attendance area will be chosen through random selection.

Yellow bus service is the preferred transportation method for eligible elementary students attending their designated school who live outside of the walk boundary.
Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is the preferred transportation method for junior high students.

New students to Edmonton Public Schools will be able to register from February 2 to April 15, 2021. Current Edmonton Public Schools students can pre-enrol between March 8 and April 15, 2021. Students who register or pre-enrol by April 15 are guaranteed to attend their designated school.
