These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About Garneau School

Our K to 6 regular program supports in-depth learning focused on competencies such as collaboration, creativity and communication through an inquiry approach to learning.

Our K to 6 Sciences program uses project approach pedagogy to engage students in cycles of in-depth study on different research topics to foster improved ability to think logically, to reason, and to problem solve. Investigations and hand-on experiences help students understand how the sciences shape our world with an emphasis on environmental citizenship and community service. Our Sciences classes are organized in combined grade groupings to foster relationship building and to provide students with opportunities for collaboration and leadership.

Literacy and numeracy are central to instruction in both programs. Music, physical activity and engagement with the natural world are also emphasized. FSL is offered to students in Grades 4 to 6. Our school community embraces values of inclusion, family involvement, diversity and reconciliation.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe:

  • Each child has an innate capacity from which to grow
  • Learning is inspired through nurturing authentic relationships with people, community, the natural world and ideas
  • In being dedicated to cultivating meaningful and innovative learning, and fostering academic integrity
