Brookside School provides a small, personalized, supportive learning environment for elementary students. Brookside parents are very involved in their students’ learning and are supportive of the school and school council. There are many opportunities for student-driven learning, and for student participation, co-operation and leadership.
Brookside provides Balanced Literacy instruction for all grades and French as a Second Language in Grades 4 to 6. Special needs students are included in the regular program. Our students benefit from the Brookside Studio, a student-run television studio, our electronic bulletin board and our computer lab, and we help them develop character with a morning television announcement program. Clubs and extracurricular activities include Running Club, patrols and choir. Our building is also used by an out-of-school care program and the community.
