Spanish Bilingual

Program Description

The Spanish Bilingual program provides students with opportunities to acquire and maintain language skills in Spanish and English.

Schools offering the Spanish Bilingual program also have an opportunity to work towards International Spanish Academy (ISA) status, a designation provided by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. This designation is awarded to schools that meet the requirements set out by the Ministry, giving them access to ISA resources and opening up international post-secondary opportunities for students.

In order to qualify for the International Spanish Academy designation a school must graduate a cohort of students through a complete Spanish-English bilingual program, meaning some schools offering Spanish Bilingual may not yet have the designation.

Education and programming for students in the Spanish Bilingual program is the same at all Spanish Bilingual schools, regardless of whether or not they have the ISA designation.
