Abbott School is a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for students. Parents, staff and community members work collaboratively to improve academic achievement and coping skills through a trauma-sensitive environment, giving students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 whatever they need to succeed. We have a mental health therapist, a roots and wings worker and mentorship programs available in the school. We also work with many community agencies to support our students and families.
We provide Full-day Kindergarten and Strategies programming. We also offer in-class interventions and, starting in Grade 4, French as a Second Language. We also have the Aboriginal Head Start program in our building. All students are provided with breakfast and a daily snack.
