Grandview Heights School, located in south-west Edmonton, serves Grade 1 to 9 students from Grandview Heights as well as other communities. Students are attracted by the small student population, strong academic program, dedicated staff, and a positive, supportive learning environment. Student success can be attributed to a strong partnership between the home, school and community.
We offer regular programming for students in Grades 1 - 9, and French as a Second Language is taught in Grades 4-9. To balance a student's educational experience, Instrumental Music (Band) and a variety of full-year options are offered as part of the junior high program.
The Academic Alternative program is for junior high students who meet entrance criteria prior to entering the program in Grade 7. This program provides more minutes per week in the four core subjects and French as a Second Language. Eligible junior high students will take a three year (Grade 7, 8, 9 and 10) accelerated mathematics and science program and receive credits for Science 10 and Math 10C. Information and registration packages are available at the end of January on our school website.
For all grades, space for new registrations is limited due to an enrolment cap. Children who live in the neighborhood have first priority for pre-enrolment and registration at the school.
