Program Enrolment 2019-20View more information

These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About York School

York School provides programming to students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6. It is also a Division site for the Academic Challenge Program. Spanish as a Second Language is taught from Grades 4 to 6.  York is an inclusive learning environment where students with special needs and students learning English as a second language are integrated into all of our classrooms. York provides a Literacy Intervention program, as well as a focus on character education.

In order to create a learning community focused on success for every student, extracurricular programs are available through various clubs as well as student leadership opportunities. Our monthly student assemblies celebrate student success and highlight character education traits. We have a well-coordinated student recognition program around these traits. Our cross-grade group, KROY teams, also meet once per month and work together to complete projects related to these character traits.

We believe:

  • That learning must centre on each student’s ability to reach his or her full potential
  • That students must have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be global citizens
  • That if students cannot learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they can learn
