About Steinhauer School

Steinhauer School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school serving the Steinhauer, Ermineskin, Paisley, Graydon Hill, Hays Ridge and Heritage Valley neighbourhoods in South Edmonton.

We offer regular programming, as well as a specialized literacy program geared towards Grades 4 to 6. We also offer two Connections programs:

  • Grades 1 to 3
  • Grades 4 to 6

All students in Grades 4 to 6 take French as a Second Language. 

At Steinhauer, we are committed to providing a supportive learning environment that fosters growth for all learners as they prepare to meet the present and future challenges. We believe that a positive learning environment is one in which students are encouraged to take risks, and understand that mistakes are an important part of the learning process.  

We have a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and student leadership. As a Leader in Me school, we encourage students to be safe, to respect themselves and others, and to be responsible.

  • teachers and parents provide encouragement and support to inspire students to achieve
  • all students are capable of developing the skills necessary to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour
