The Government of Alberta’s Standards for the Selection, Availability, and Access of School Literary Materials allows for requests to be made to review, change the access to or availability of, reconsider or remove specific literary materials from school libraries.
See GIBD.AR School Literary Materials for more about the selection, availability and access to school literary materials in Edmonton Public Schools.
The Division has identified the following people are eligible to submit a literary material review request:
To submit a review request, an eligible applicant will need to fill out the Division’s School Literary Material Review Request Form. On the form you’ll be asked for information about yourself, including your name, school and contact details. You’ll also need to clearly provide a reason why the literary material was identified for review using the Government of Alberta’s Standards.
You will receive an automatic response confirming your request has been received. The Division will review any submitted requests and follow up within 60 days.
