These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About Johnny Bright School

Johnny Bright is an inclusive community school located in the Rutherford neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton. Since our attendance boundaries are closed, all of our students are from within Rutherford. We provide programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 9. We are active in social media, tweeting about the exciting news happening to our community. Our school council and parent society are involved and committed to supporting our school.

Johnny Bright staff has built a collaborative environment with the mantra “These are all our students”.  The staff are involved in professional learning activities with a focus on improving teaching and learning at all levels.  We aspire to excellence in learning opportunities through our Three Pillars: Academics, Athletics and Activity for learning and excellence in citizenship and community involvement. ‌

We are committed to:

  • Creating a learning community that supports all students learning at high levels
  • Building a collaborative, interdependent environment centred on essential learning outcomes, intentional teaching and responding to data to meet the needs of all learners
  • Project-based and innovative, authentic learning opportunities where students demonstrate 21st century skills and competencies
  • Valuing all stakeholders and sharing a collective responsibility in building a safe, secure and caring environment
