We’re excited to announce that Edmonton Public Schools is expanding the number of schools that offer the Early Years Program in 2016-2017! We’re also using a new way of placing children in some locations to help families receive programming closer to their homes. For the 2016-2017 school year, there are two ways for children to be placed in Early Years.
Families in central, Mill Woods, south and west Edmonton need to attend an information and screening session in March to find out if their child is eligible for the program.
During the session, a Speech Language Pathologist and an Occupational Therapist will assess children using toys, books and fun activities, while their parents are in the same room. This will take about an hour.

To learn more and sign up, contact one of the Early Years Program schools that is holding a session. If your child is eligible for programming, we will contact you to tell you where your child will be placed. Children might not be placed at the same school where the screening session happens.
Families in north and east Edmonton and those interested in the Tevie Miller Heritage School Program may contact these schools directly to learn more about placement.
The Early Years Program is for children 2 to 5 years old who are English Language Learners (have a first language other than English) or have mild, moderate or severe delays in their development.
Learn more about Early Years by contacting a school that offers or or call our District Support Services team at 780-429-8030.
