HELP GUIDE THE FUTURE OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

We are looking for 10 new members to join our Inclusive Education Parent and Community Advisory Committee. This committee brings together parents, community members and Division staff to share ideas, experiences and expertise that help strengthen inclusive education at Edmonton Public Schools. 

All parents and community members are encouraged to apply. 

We are accepting expressions of interest until 4 p.m. on April 10, 2026.

WHAT IS INCLUSIVE EDUCATION?

Inclusion is a way of thinking and acting that demonstrates universal acceptance and promotes a sense of belonging for all learners. 

WHAT'S INVOLVED? 

Our Inclusive Education Parent and Community Advisory Committee is made up of 10 community members and three representatives from Division administration.

The committee helps the Division strengthen its inclusive education system by:

Committee members are expected to:

  • serve a two- or three-year term
  • attend three early-evening meetings at the Centre for Education each year

MEMBERSHIP AND SELECTION

Ten candidates will be selected to fill vacancies on the committee, and additional applicants may be asked to fill positions that open up throughout the year. We seek a balanced representation of:

  • parents with children currently attending Division schools, and
  • other interested community members
