International field trips and exchanges paused

Due to ongoing political, economic and public health challenges around the world, Edmonton Public Schools has paused international field trips and student exchanges for the 2026–27 school year.
Factors considered in this decision include:
- operational and security concerns
- global fuel shortages
- recently reported public health concerns
Ongoing military conflict in a number of locations introduces additional unpredictability and risk to international travel.

The Division will continue to monitor global trends and reassess international travel ahead of the 2027–28 school year.
