Board to hold by-election for vacant seat

Trustees voted in favour of holding a by-election this fall to fill the seat left vacant by Sarah Hoffman, who was elected as an MLA in the recent provincial election. Voters in Ward G will tentatively head to the polls on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Board to ask province to include consent in Human Sexuality curriculum

Trustees unanimously passed a motion to write to the Education Minister, asking that the topic of consent be included in the sexual health curriculum so all students can learn about healthy boundaries.

Highlights of January 20, 2015 Public Board Meeting

At the January 20 public board meeting, Michael Janz was acclaimed as the new Chair, and Michelle Draper the new Vice-Chair, of the Edmonton Public School Board. He replaces Sarah Hoffman, who stepped down as the board chair earlier this week.
