Yesterday morning, the Edmonton Police Service School Resource Officer Unit (SRO) was recognized by the City for being awarded the Model Agency of the Year Award by the National Association of School Resource Officers.

Strathcona School Cycles Beyond Fundraising Records

The Strathcona School community raised an incredible $171,000 in the ChainReaction Campaign, a global initiative to raise awareness and funds for the need for bicycles in Africa. Approximately 800 people (80 teams) participated in a 24-hour bike-a-thon in the Scona gym to raise donations.

Revised School Year Calendars

The 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school year calendars for Edmonton Public Schools have changed. Over the next two school years, there will be more professional development (PD) days for teachers and one more day in lieu for time they have invested in parent-teacher conferences. Although students will have a few extra days off, they will still receive the same amount of instructional time due to slightly longer school days.
