Four Division schools require students to submit an application to make sure they meet criteria for a school's instructional focus or programming.
Schools with entrance criteria include:
SCHOOL | PROGRAM WITH ENTRANCE CRITERIA | FOR THESE GRADES |
Crestwood | Academic Alternative Program | Junior high |
Grandview Heights | Academic Alternative Program | Junior high |
Old Scona | Academic Alternative Program | Senior high |
Victoria | Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts Program | Elementary and junior high |
If you’re applying to a program at school with entrance criteria:
You will be notified if your child does not meet entrance criteria no later than March 12.
Students who don’t meet entrance criteria can attend their designated school, or any other Division school, as long as the school has space. Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account to complete pre-enrolment with their second choice school. Learn more about completing pre-enrolment before the deadline at 4 p.m. on March 19.
If you are notified that your child does meet entrance criteria and you would like your child to attend the school, you don’t need to complete pre-enrolment in SchoolZone. The school with entrance criteria will email you to confirm your acceptance.
If you are notified that your child does meet entrance criteria, but you no longer want them to attend, sign in to your parent SchoolZone account to complete pre-enrolment with their second choice school. Learn more about completing pre-enrolment before the deadline at 4 p.m. on March 19.
If the number of students who meet the school’s entrance criteria exceeds the available space, applicants from outside the school’s attendance area will be chosen by random selection.
