These numbers represent enrolment on September 30 as submitted to Alberta Education.

Program enrolment may not equal a school's total enrolment because:

  • students may be enrolled in more than one program, and
  • some programs are not shown.

Enrolment data gives parents a general understanding of the number of students at a school or enrolled in a program. Although we’ve made every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate, there may still be errors. To confirm enrolment, contact the school.

About Highlands School

Highlands School sets high standards for academics, safety and student well-being. Our learning environment is positive, caring and supportive of individual differences, allowing students to take risks in the pursuit of excellence. We offer:

  • Full-day Kindergarten
  • Half-day Kindergarten
  • Arts Core (K-9)
  • Connections (1-9)
  • Strategies (7-9)

We partner with community organizations to support our students and families. We have a Success Coach and a Roots and Wings worker from the Family Centre. In addition, we offer a morning meal for K to Grade 6 students supported by E4C. Nutritional support in junior high is provided by a partnership with Food for Thought. Hope Mission supports a lunch program for all students that need it.

Our School Council and Highlands Parent Society are very supportive; they provide advice to the school and help fundraise to support various initiatives and needs, such as field trips and the new playground development.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe:

  • that all students are capable of achieving success
  • in building strong relationships with students, parents and the community
  • in our motto, “Learning with respect, responsibility, pride"
