Riverdale School is located close to the city center in the historic river valley community of Riverdale. Our school has a small, but growing student population, proudly serving students from the Riverdale community and Edmonton at large.
We benefit greatly from a parent community that values education, a strong volunteer base, an active parent advisory council and a positive relationship with the Riverdale Community League. We lease space to the Riverdale Out of School Care, which provides before and after school programming. We provide gymnasium use for the Riverdale Community League & Out of School Club and library use for the Riverdale Community Childcare Centre.
Our teachers are committed to high-quality teaching practices, providing differentiated programming for students and working collaboratively to provide rich academic experience. Language Arts programming is offered through Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Programs. Students receive instruction in French as a Second Language starting in Grade 4 and a music specialist supports students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. All classrooms are equipped with technology. We offer a variety of extracurricular clubs and teams, numerous field trips and enrichment experiences, and City of Edmonton programs serve to enhance our school.
The mission at Riverdale School is to work as a community to create authentic learning experiences to ensure learners understand their value and potential in society. Our vision is to empower learners to successfully meet the challenges of tomorrow.
