Remembrance Day

Regulation

1.  
   1. In compliance with the Remembrance Day Act, principals shall ensure that on Remembrance Day:
      1. a remembrance ceremony is held from 11:00 a.m. to at least 11:05 a.m., or
      2. two minutes' silence is observed from 11:00 a.m. to 11:02 a.m.
   2. If the remembrance ceremony is held at the school, all students shall either attend the ceremony or remain in the school, silent, during the ceremony.
   3. If Remembrance Day falls on a day on which the school is not open, the remembrance ceremony shall be held on the school day immediately preceding Remembrance Day.
2. Schools are encouraged to commemorate Remembrance Day with other appropriate activities in addition to those required by the Remembrance Day Act.
