New provincial Science curriculum in Grades 4 to 6 this school year

This school year, students in Grades 4 to 6 will learn new provincial curriculum in Science and French Immersion language arts and literature. Some Kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms will also take part in piloting draft curriculum in social studies.

New provincial curriculum is being developed and introduced in schools over a number of years. 

How we’re preparing

Many K–6 teachers took part in professional learning related to the new curriculum last school year. Opportunities for professional learning will continue to be offered through this school year. School staff also have access to updated teaching and learning resources to support the new curriculum.
