Yesterday, the Edmonton Public Schools Board of Trustees approved the school district’s combined Three Year Education Plan (3YEP) and Annual Education Results Report (AERR).
One of the primary methods for determining how a school district is doing is the provincial Accountability Pillar. It provides a consistent set of measures that are used by each jurisdiction across Alberta. For the 2011-2012 school year, Edmonton Public Schools achieved an overall rating of Acceptable to Excellent for 13 of the pillar’s 16 measures.
“Edmonton Public Schools is doing a great deal of work to support each of our students in achieving the best possible educational outcomes,” says Board Chair Sarah Hoffman. “The strategies we are undertaking over the next three years will enable us to continue meeting the diverse educational needs of our students.”
Edmonton Public Schools submits the combined 3YEP-AERR to Alberta Education on an annual basis. The document provides comprehensive information on the District’s plans for the period 2012-2013 to 2014-2015, along with the results achieved during the 2011-2012 school year.
