At the December 13 public board meeting, Edmonton Public Schools’ Board of Trustees reviewed and debated four options for the proposed changes to current Trustee ward boundaries, to be in place for the 2017 election. They voted 6-2 in favour of pursuing option three from the Trustee Ward Boundary Review recommendation report.
The proposed new Trustee ward boundaries factor in current and future growth, while creating a fair distribution of city population being served within each ward.
The amended boundary bylaw will go through first and second readings at the January 17 board meeting. If you're interested in speaking at the January 17 Board meeting, you should register by 4:30 p.m. the day before the meeting. Learn about how to register to speak at the meeting.
UPDATE: The proposed boundaries were accepted. View the new ward boundaries by selecting your Trustee.
