Division statement on the conflict in Ukraine

Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as well as those who have experienced conflict in other parts of the world. We know this is a difficult and uncertain time for students, staff, families and community members.

School communities are places where students and staff of all backgrounds gather alongside one another to learn. Our classrooms continue to be safe spaces for caring and compassionate conversations during this time. As a Division, we are resolved to show each other respect, kindness and empathy as we process the events happening in the world right now.

Support is available to those who need it. Albertans can find resources on the Alberta Health Services and Government of Alberta websites. Schools also have supports in place for Division students and staff. We encourage students who are struggling to reach out to their teacher or principal.
