News item: Indigenous History Month 2022

June is National Indigenous History Month, and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. During this month, our schools and students celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Indigenous peoples and acknowledge the many outstanding First Nations, Métis, and Inuit achievements and contributions.

The Division has created several video resources for students to learn more about the traditions and significance of Indigenous cultures. Last year, the Division also produced Listen, Hear, Learn: Honouring Indigenous Voices, which highlights the profound connection Indigenous peoples have with the land.

Thank you to the participants who shared their knowledge and stories.
