Suggest New School Names

Five new schools are being built in the following areas:

• Ambleside (Kindergarten to Grade 9)
• Blackmud Creek (Kindergarten to Grade 6)
• MacTaggart (Kindergarten to Grade 9)
• Webber Greens (Grade 7 to 9)
• (Kindergarten to Grade 9)

Each of these schools needs a name. That’s where you come in!

To suggest a name:

• Complete a brief online survey;
• Fax your suggestions (title the document “New School Names”) to Planning at 780-425-0323; or
• Mail or bring your suggestions (in a sealed envelope addressed to the Planning department) to the Centre for Education, 1 Kingsway Avenue NW, T5H 4G9.

Please include your contact information in case we need to follow up.

Naming guidelines:

• Names should hold historical value and/or honour a person who has made an important contribution to education or the community
• Include relevant background information to support the name(s) you suggest

Submission deadline:

The deadline for suggestions is March 6, 2015.

Edmonton Public Schools will consider all submissions before putting them forward for approval by the Board of Trustees.
