Update for families learning online for the second half of 2021-22

News item: Online learning update for second half of 2021-22

Now that the family choice deadline has passed, we are working to finalize learning groups and assign teachers for the students who chose online learning for the second half of the school year. The process of organizing students and teachers is complex and takes time. We cannot guarantee that students will be in an online learning group with other students from their school.

As we plan classes, we do our best to keep online students with the same teacher and learning group they had during the first half of the school year. However, some online students may have new teachers or learning groups.

Before classes start on the first day of school, teachers will send an email with a Google Meet link to their students. You may not hear from your child’s teacher until just prior to classes on February 1.

HOW TO ACCESS ONLINE LEARNING

To access your child’s online learning group on the morning of February 1:

  • STEP 1: Make sure you have your child’s SchoolZone sign-in details. If you don’t have them, contact your school.
  • STEP 2: On the first day of online learning, sign in to Google Classroom using your child’s @share.epsb.ca email account. You can also access Google Classroom from the Apps tab in your child’s SchoolZone account.
  • STEP 3: Click the blue Join button to connect to their online learning group.

If your child is learning in person, please contact your child’s school directly if you have questions about their return to school.
