Harry Ainlay School hosts Junior High Leadership Conference

Harry Ainlay School, along with the Alberta Association of Student Councils and Advisors (AASCA), will host this year’s Junior High Leadership Conference themed “Lights, Camera, Leadership” on November 8 and 9. The annual conference aims to inspire over 600 delegates from schools across the province (plus 78 spirit leaders, 50 volunteers and 43 advisors) to become future leaders in their community by building connections and establishing skills that will help them throughout their lives, both personally and professionally.

Keith Hawkins, one of the world’s leading motivational speakers, will open and close the conference with his inspirational message.  Once an impoverished youth from Los Angeles, Keith will challenge students and staff to be better people, to be the change they so desire, and to learn, grow and thrive in life. In addition to speaking about leadership and team building, Keith will also discuss diversity, enhancing school climate and bullying.

Joining Keith in welcoming the delegates will be: MP James Rajotte, MLA Matt Jeneroux, Mayor Don Iveson, Councillor Michael Walters, Trustee Nathan Ip, Assistant Superintendent Ron MacNeil, AASCA President Sue Moore, Alberta Teachers’ Association President Mark Ramsankar and Harry Ainlay Principal David Jones.
