Michael Janz acclaimed as board chair

Edmonton Public School trustees held their organizational board meeting Tuesday and they acclaimed Michael Janz as board chair and Michelle Draper as vice-chair.
“I want to thank the Board for their confidence to work with me as chair again,” says Janz. “I am proud to work with such a high-functioning team of trustees who put children and public education first. I am also looking forward to working with the excellent administration at Edmonton Public Schools. We have a strong working relationship and always strive to do what’s best for our students and families.”
The Board’s newest trustee – Bridget Stirling, who represents Ward G, attended her first official meeting and took her oath of office. The position was left vacant when Sarah Hoffman was elected as an MLA earlier this year. The election for the vacant seat was held in late September.
