News item: Choose a learning option for 2021-22

Starting June 21, families can choose in-person or online learning for the first half of the 2021-22 school year.

The first half of the school year will run from September to the end of January 2022

SELECT IN SCHOOLZONE

Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between 8 a.m. on June 21 and 4 p.m. on August 12

  • select Forms from the menu
  • choose Family choice for 2021-22

New families will receive an email

Families new to Edmonton Public Schools, such as Kindergarten families, will receive an email on June 21. The email will include a unique link families can use to submit their choice.

Form temporarily unavailable August 7-9

SchoolZone will be temporarily unavailable between August 7-9 for annual upgrades. This will affect both new families and current Division families.

CHANGING YOUR SELECTION

Before the deadline

You can change your selection anytime before 4 p.m. on August 12. Current Division families can sign in to SchoolZone to update their choice, and families new to Edmonton Public Schools will use the unique link in their email.

After the deadline

If you want to switch to online learning, your child will not be placed in an online class. This means:

  • your child will receive work from their classroom teacher to complete at home
  • you are responsible for guiding your child’s learning

If you want to switch to in-person learning, talk to your child’s school to find out if there is space in a specific grade or program.

WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM MY ONLINE LEARNING TEACHER?

Students taking online learning may not hear from their teacher until the first day of classes.
