Starting June 21, families can choose in-person or online learning for the first half of the 2021-22 school year.
The first half of the school year will run from September to the end of January 2022.
UPDATE: The deadline has been extended to August 16.
Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between 8 a.m. on June 21 and 4 p.m. on August 16:
Families new to Edmonton Public Schools, such as Kindergarten families, will receive an email notifying them of the deadline extension. The email will include a unique link families can use to submit their choice.
SchoolZone will be temporarily unavailable between August 7-9 for annual upgrades. This will affect both new families and current Division families.
You can change your selection anytime before 4 p.m. on August 16. Current Division families can sign in to SchoolZone to update their choice, and families new to Edmonton Public Schools will use the unique link in their email.
After August 16, students cannot move from in-person to online learning.
The deadline helps us make decisions about teaching assignments and what resources are needed to support your child’s learning for the first half of the year.
Students taking online learning may not hear from their teacher until the first day of classes.

If a full return to in-person learning is not possible due to the pandemic, families will be asked to choose in-person or online learning for the rest of the school year.
As we get ready for another school year, we’ll share more information about our plan to safely welcome students and staff back to school. Watch for updates on our website, SchoolZone, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
