Choose how your child will learn in September

School-specific re-entry information is available starting August 14 on Division school websites.
Families should review these details, and then visit SchoolZone to choose how their child(ren) will return to learning in September: in-person classes or online instruction. The deadline for families to make their choice is Friday, August 21, 2020.
Families should follow these step-by-step instructions once they are signed into their parent account on SchoolZone:
- Click the Forms menu option at the top of your screen
- Choose Additional Forms
- Select Family Choice - Quarter 1 (click anywhere on the row)
- Review the information sheet then click Respond at the bottom of the page. (Depending on the type of device you're using, you may need to download the information sheet.)
- Check the boxes on the right side of the screen to complete your choice
- Click Submit
- Complete the form for each child enrolled at Edmonton Public Schools
Families who do not have access to SchoolZone should email their selection to their school by Friday, August 21, 2020. Please provide your child’s name and grade, what option they will be selecting, in-person or online, and include family choice in your email subject line.
The option a family selects, in-person classes or online instruction, indicates how a student will learn during quarter one of the school year (Sept. 3 to Nov. 10). Families will have another opportunity to select how their child receives instruction prior to quarter two, and quarters three and four. Read more about the quarterly system and how it works.
School re-entry information is based on the COVID-19 Division Re-entry Strategy, after the Government of Alberta announced that in-school classes will resume in September.
