News item: Welcome to the 2024–25 school year

We’re looking forward to another great school year! If you’re new to the Division or need a refresher on where to find some important information, you’ve come to the right place.

2024–25 Division calendar

The 2024–25 Division calendar has all the key dates you need to know about for this school year, including:

  • fall, winter and spring breaks
  • Professional Development days (PD days)
  • other holidays, dates of significance and non-instructional days

SchoolZone

SchoolZone is a secure website that has important information about your child’s learning. Sign in to SchoolZone to find out more about:

  • homework
  • attendance records
  • progress reports (report cards)
  • school news and events

If your child is a new student, your school will give you a parent username and password. If you already have an account, but can’t remember your sign-in credentials, contact your school for help.

Learn more about SchoolZone.

SchoolMessenger

SchoolMessenger is an urgent message system that can call and text you when there is an emergency at your child’s school, like a fire or evacuation. Learn more about SchoolMessenger and how to sign up.

Getting to school

This year’s earlier start means changes for students who are taking the bus on the first two school days of the year. Find out more about busing and using bus passes in August, and other important bus information.

Slow down

The first few days of school are exciting for students, so they may not be paying as much attention to what’s happening on the street. We want to remind motorists to slow down as students head back to classes.

Drivers are required to slow to 30 km/h in all playground zones from 7:30 a.m.–9 p.m. every day.
