News item: Important busing information for 2024–25

If your child takes the bus to school, there are some important things you should know.

Taking the bus in August

With an earlier start to the 2024–25 school year, students will be riding the bus before their September bus passes take effect.

If your child takes the yellow bus to school, they can use their September pass on August 29 and 30. They will be allowed to get on the bus without a pass until they get it from the school.

Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) riders who are planning to take the bus on August 29 and 30 can buy single-use tickets directly from ETS. September ETS passes bought through the Division are valid starting on September 1.

Bus passes

Students can buy their monthly bus passes through the school office. Bus pass fees are the same as last year.

ETS riders are now able to use Arc cards as a bus pass. To get the subsidized student rate, buy monthly bus passes for your Arc card through the school.

Bus safety

New bus riders are invited to join us at the Edmonton Expo Centre on Thursday, August 22 for First Riders.

This free annual event is a unique, hands-on opportunity for students and their parents to get comfortable riding the bus before the first day of school. Both afternoon and evening sessions are available. Find session times and sign up.

Can’t make it? Check out our video and tips about how to ride the bus safely.

Late and cancelled buses

Buses can be delayed by traffic, construction or bad weather. Learn what to do when a bus is late or cancelled. Parents can also track their child’s yellow bus through SchoolZone.
