Edwin Parr Award for first-year teachers

At the March 4 Board meeting, Edmonton Public Schools recognized four outstanding teachers for the Edwin Parr Award for first-year teachers. The finalists are:

• Prerak Shah, Elder Dr. Francis Whiskeyjack School
• Derek Repchuk, Highlands School
• Lauren McDonald, Mayfield School
• Sagan Speer, Westglen School
• Breanna Tran-Ly, Weinlos School

Breanna Tran-Ly was selected as the Division’s recipient and will be honoured at the Alberta School Boards Association Award celebration. Congratulations to all the finalists!

MORE ABOUT THE EDWIN PARR AWARD

Each year, the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) honours outstanding first-year teachers with the Edwin Parr Teacher Award. School boards may nominate any first-year Kindergarten to Grade 12 teacher who has taught in an Alberta school jurisdiction that is a member of the ASBA.
